The Minister of Health of Guatemala, Joaquín Barñoya, and the Cuban ambassador in this country, Nazario Fernández, signed this Wednesday a cooperation agreement until 2027 to strengthen healthcare work.
At the headquarters of the health ministry in the capital, the head of the sector thanked the people of the largest island in the Caribbean and its medical brigade members for going to the most distant communities, which are sometimes difficult to reach.
He referred to the support provided to this Central American territory in the expansion of health services coverage, which the nation so needs.
Before vice ministers and other officials of the organization, he stressed that the preventive approach of benefits to the Cuban people is something worth imitating and from which Guatemala can learn.
