Meisi Bolaños Weiss Minister of Finance and Price clarified on Resolution 319, where natural persons are exempted from paying customs duties for non-commercial importation of photovoltaic solar systems, their fundamental parts and pieces, he also explained on Resolution 322, which refers to the teams that benefit from the measure.
The measure taken favors the country and the population by stimulating the import and export of photovoltaic equipment. It is also important to clarify according to the Minister of Energy and Mines that the idea is to transform the energy matrix and contribute to savings.
At another time, Nelson Cordovés Reyes, Chief of the General Customs Office of the Republic, intervened, who explained that since July 19, the new measure on the importation of certain items free of customs duties entered into force, they have been received at the Customs Office of the International Airport. José Martí 108 flights with 117 tons approximately for 96% of the packages containing this type of product. Before the measure it did not exceed 1 ton, he added. It is valid to recognize that currently between 60 and 65% of the passengers who arrive in the country take advantage of the green channel and that the products must be imported separately from articles of another nature (for example, footwear, clothing, household appliances, among others. ) to achieve agility and transparency in the offices and therefore to be able to obtain and service of quality and excellence.
The Head of Customs also explained that this measure has had very positive impacts on the population since it is part of the assessments made by the country to face and solve the complex situation caused by the intensification of the United States blockade and the impact from the Covid-19 pandemic.
