
Cuba confirmed at the close of this Monday 1060 new cases of COVID-19, and nine deaths, as reported in a press conference by Dr. Francisco Durán García, national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).
There are 24,705 patients admitted, of them 3,845 suspects, in surveillance 16,034 and 4,826 confirmed, 136 less than yesterday.
On Monday, he said, 21,399 samples were processed in molecular biology laboratories across the country, and as a result 1,060 infections were confirmed, 206 more compared to the previous day.
Of the total number of cases: 1042 are autochthonous and 18 are imported; 543 of the female sex (51.2%) and 517 (48.8) of the male. The doctor pointed out that the number of infections is "high" and the high degree of transmission in the country continues.
He also stressed that 42.3% of the cases confirmed yesterday were totally asymptomatic, "if not for the protocols, they would not have been diagnosed." Meanwhile, in 38 people, the source of infection was not identified.
