On the morning of July 26, the Villa Clara Customs held a special morning, in tribute to the happiest date in history, July 26, 1953, which is a historic date for all Cubans, since it represents, within the calendar of ephemeris nationals of the island, the Day of National Rebellion. For 68 years, the people of Cuba have honored the memory of the Centennial Generation that faced the dictatorship of the then coup president, Fulgencio Batista, to generate profound political, economic and social transformations. The assaults on the Moncada barracks, in Santiago de Cuba (east), and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, in Bayamo (east), aroused popular consciousness and began the gestation of the future Rebel Army that would achieve definitive victory on January 1, 1959 On July 26, he opened the gap through which the youth of the centenary of Marti with Fidel at the helm entered forever in the history of our country. They were not intimidated by the repression or the sentence imposed.  It will always have to be remembered for more than one reason and not only the Cuban people but beyond our borders. That day, a ray of light crossed the horizon. It is still alive despite all the attempts to turn it off, with more force in these complex moments, when the national and international environment suffers the hegemonic convulsions of the northern neighbor due to the fatal pandemic of Covid 19. "The Moncada taught us to convert the setbacks in victories ", sentenced the commander in chief, Fidel Castro Ruz.
