In commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the #SocialistCustoms, we are at Pico Turquino, the highest point on the island of #Cuba, with 1974 meters above sea level, located at the western end of the Guamá municipality of
the province of Santiago de Cuba.
The young people of the General Customs of the Republic from our combat trench make our loyalty and commitment felt, imbued with the historical traditions of the revolutionary struggle and committing ourselves to defend today, tomorrow and always the conquests of socialism.
It was just in the Year of the Centenary of the birth of José Martí, in 1953, when numerous activities were organized in #Cuba to celebrate that historic date. For this reason, the young teacher Emerita Segredo Carreño, member of
from the Association of Former Students of the Martí Seminary, proposed to place a bust of Martí in the highest place of our country, on Pico Turquino; who later expressed:
«Cuba places the Apostle in his highest place,
materially, and morally, it indicates that from there it will always be vigilant, as a beacon of bright and exemplary light, to point the right path to generations of Cubans"
The reasons that bring us together on this site are many, one of them being the 170th Anniversary of the birth of the Apostle José Martí, which we will commemorate on January 28.
We have the happiness of being here a representation of young people from all customs offices in the country that make up the Detachment "#60AduanaSocialista" in front of the bronze bust that immortalizes Marti.
Let's assume this 60th anniversary being the young people who want to do the most for #Cuba, working, contributing, participating, transforming and
revolutionizing. We continue to have very difficult challenges in which the survival of the #CubanRevolution depends and that it will not be possible to face without the presence of young people.
Thus, we will be defending the homeland, the Revolution and Socialism.
