The arrival of the American Airlines Boing 737-800 at the "Abel Santamaría" International Airport in Santa Clara this Thursday marks the strengthening of air connections between the United States and Cuba and, at the same time, marks the increase in operations at the Villa Clara terminal just a few days into the high season of tourism.
As of this date, the Miami-Santa Clara itinerary will have two daily frequencies and is added to a cluster of operations that will be around 1,800 flights throughout the stage, until next April 30, according to information offered by Tayluma García Machado, specialist Territorial superior of policy of the Provincial Delegation of Tourism.
Coming from Canada —the main issuing market to the Villa Clara destination—, the companies Sunwing, Air Canada, Air Transat and Nolinor Aviation will also fly to the provincial capital, with frequencies that should increase as the season progresses.
Meanwhile, the “Abel Santamaría” International Airport aspires to continue being a benchmark for agility and efficiency among clients and tour operators, an idea also defended by the province's tourism department.
