A caravan organized by the Martí Association of Cuban Residents in Panama (Amcrp) will tour today the main arteries of Panama City to condemn the United States blockade of the Caribbean island.
The caravan, according to Prensa Latina (PL), will demand the end of the economic, commercial and financial siege and on this occasion it is also part of the commemorative program for the 70th anniversary of the Day of National Rebellion.
Humberto Pérez, coordinator of the group, told the news agency that, as is tradition, the initiative will start from the University of Panama and will end in the emblematic Belisario Porras park, next to the busts of the National Hero José Martí and General Antonio Maceo.
In the caravan and the summary meeting, as is also usual, he said, national members of solidarity groups and popular organizations will participate, as well as members of the state mission.
He announced that the demonstration will be accompanied by music, flags, allegorical banners to "the noble cause for the elimination of this hostile policy that tries to suffocate and surrender the Cuban family, but that will never achieve it."
Pérez also emphasized that, along with these actions, the Amcrp promotes other initiatives such as sending containers with medical supplies to the Island to contribute to the health system, affected by the unilateral measures and sanctions of the White House.
