Maidel Tarré Calá, Head of the Department of Legal Affairs of Customs at the José Martí International Airport, spoke on the Making Radio program of the Radio Rebelde station about the elements related to importation by passengers arriving in the country.
The directive clarified that importation is the act carried out by natural or legal persons to enter merchandise from other States into the national territory. Regarding the so-called non-commercial importation, Maidel Tarré Calá explained that these are operations carried out by natural persons on a regular and systematic basis.
Due to its importance in the current context of the country, he emphasized what refers to the importation of power plants into the national territory.
Tarré pointed out that the fact of allowing equipment with a value of 950 reduces the possibility of imports. In this sense, he recalled that the limit for imports is up to one thousand pesos. So, from the relaxation, up to two power plants are allowed for the route of passengers and unaccompanied luggage.
