Havana is, once again, the heart of the International Conference "For the Balance of the World", convened by the José Martí International Solidarity Project and whose VI edition will run from January 28 to 31, with headquarters at the Palacio de Conventions of the Cuban capital.
This year, the event coincides with the commemoration of the 130th anniversary of the fall in combat of the National Hero of Cuba José Martí, which occurred on May 19, 1895, while facing the Spanish colonial forces on the Island. The tribute to his memory recognizes his legacy as a defender of justice and social equity.
With the aim of promoting social justice, intercultural dialogue and cooperation between peoples, ideas that the Cuban Apostle defended during his life, around 900 delegates from 93 countries will share ideas and proposals at the event in response to the most urgent global challenges, which include the still visible traces of colonialism, hegemonism and unipolarity.
The program will include debates, keynote conferences, symposiums and forums, with special participation by renowned Latin American intellectuals such as the Brazilian Frei Betto.
