The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) is holding today in Caracas, the capital of Venezuela, an extraordinary working meeting of Heads of State and Government to analyze issues of importance for development of the member countries and the region.
This meeting was announced last week by the Latin American and Caribbean integration mechanism in a statement, and among its purposes it will evaluate the progress and results in the economic, social and political areas, after the XXIV Summit last December.
It will also address respect for the human rights and dignity of migrant populations and the defense of the sovereignty and peace of all of Our Latin America and the Caribbean, after the most recent decisions of the new US administration that affect the region and its towns.
The event coincides with the 230th anniversary of the birth of the hero Antonio José de Sucre, the text indicated.
