Banking is a gradual process
At the beginning of the television program, Joaquín Alonso, president of the BCC, explained the context of the measures adopted and what banking access means.
“It is a process in which progress has been made for some years, in which all the agencies of the Central State Administration and local governments participate, as well as all the economic actors in society. The use of credit titles and banking instruments is promoted, with priority in the use of electronic means of payment, ”he said.
He added that “it is a gradual process, which we have estimated in six months, to which more and more people are expected to join. That is not to say that cash will disappear. Those who use electronic payment channels get benefits, discounts.
It is a process demanded by the population, as could be seen in the debates of the recent ordinary session of the National Assembly of People's Power”.
According to Alonso, bank access will allow continuing to empower the economy and enhances the possibilities that the banking system can offer to the development of the country.
