First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, thanked today, on behalf of Cuba, the donation of 7.5 tons of powdered milk for oncology hospitals in Havana and Holguín, sent this Monday by the Project The bread (Sharing with the Cuban people).

In his official Twitter account, Díaz-Canel endorsed the words of Reverend Joel Ortega, president of the Council of Churches of Cuba, who, in delivering the donation, affirmed that "we are showing that the world can be different, that a better world is possible, that together we can do more, that love is stronger than hate and that peace is the most important thing".

“I make the words of Reverend Joel Ortega my own: "We are showing that the world can be different, that a better world is possible, that together we can do more, that love is stronger than hate and that peace is the most important thing". On behalf of #Cuba, THANK YOU," he posted.

This Monday, Félix Sharpe Caballero, representative in Michigan of the El pan Project (Sharing with the Cuban people), delivered a donation of 7.5 tons of powdered milk for oncology hospitals in Havana and Holguín, plus the Army of salvation.

Sharpe Caballero called for the lifting of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States against Cuba and assured that what was donated shows that Cuba is not alone.

For his part, Mark Friedman, coordinator of the Los Angeles-based Hands off Cuba Committee, announced the launch of his next medical aid campaign for the island, to raise $125,000 to buy four anesthesia machines and 60 boxes of sutures and surgical instruments and equipment for the Calixto García Hospital, in El Vedado, Havana.

The donation joins many others sent by Cubans residing abroad and friends of the largest of the Antilles in the context of the crisis caused by the pandemic and the worsening of the restrictive policy of the United States government.
