Havana, March 30 (ACN) The United States government fails to comply with its legal obligation to grant no less than 20,000 visas per year, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cuba, denounced today on Twitter.

Through a thread (series of tweets), Rodríguez Parrilla reiterated that that nation imposes the burden of the brutal commercial and financial economic blockade, and pressures governments in the region to require transit visas for Cuban migrants and travelers.

“The US government fails to comply with its legal obligation to grant no less than 20,000 visas per year, according to bilateral agreements, imposes the burden of the brutal economic blockade and pressures governments in the region to require transit visas for migrants and travelers. Cubans," he posted.

He added that Cuba has clearly warned the United States government of its responsibility in stimulating irregular Cuban emigration, given that country's refusal, since 2017, to facilitate regular, safe and orderly emigration.

In another communication, the Cuban foreign minister denounced that the United States has been exerting pressure on governments in the region for weeks to take action against the Cuban traveler, and described as cynical its efforts to close the doors to emigration that it has stimulated for decades.
