Secure Border William Pérez González, First Deputy Chief of the General Customs of the Republic, announced on social media the detection of "30,000 USD in counterfeit currency attempting to enter the country" from the U.S., as part of the intensified drug crackdown.
On March 1, news of a fraud case was made public on social media in which a bill identical to those detected by Customs officers at the "Juan Gualberto Gomez" International Airport was used in Jovellanos, Matanzas.
