A big hug from all the Cuban deputies to the people of Santiago de Cuba, the province that hosts the central act for the feat of July 26, not only for historical reasons, but also for the results of the work in recent years, Esteban Lazo, member of the of the Political Bureau and President of the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament).
Lazo expressed this greeting in his introductory words to the first session of the highest supreme body of the State, in its X Legislature, which takes place in the Havana Convention Center and is attended by Army General Raúl Castro, leader of the Revolution, and Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic.
The recognition on behalf of the National Assembly was also extensive to Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos, provinces to which the Political Bureau decided to grant outstanding status, due to their stability and progress in the main tasks, as well as Ciego de Ávila and Matanzas, deserving of recognition.
The president of the Parliament stressed that a few days after the commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the assaults on the Moncada barracks, in Santiago de Cuba, and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, in Bayamo, this July 26, the tribute to the fallen in that feat and special remembrance for its leader, Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, who led the so-called Centennial Generation.
