Díaz-Canel values ​​meeting with participants of the Patria international colloquium

Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, described today as an emotional meeting with revolutionary communicators the exchange he held with journalists, left-wing political articulators, and influencers who participated in the international colloquium Homeland.


In his official Twitter account, Díaz-Canel affirmed that a better real and virtual world is possible, a certainty that, according to what he said, he confirmed again on Tuesday night at the Palace of the Revolution, venue of the meeting.

He said that during the exchange they agreed to work together in defense of the truth and of Cuba, and assured them that the Revolution will not give up.

“A better real and virtual world is possible. A certainty that I confirmed again last night, in an emotional meeting with revolutionary communicators from various parts of the world. I assured them that the Cuban Revolution will not give up. We agreed to work together in defense of the truth and of #Cuba”, he published.

In another communication, the Cuban president shared a tweet from Manolo De Los Santos, one of the participants in the meeting, and thanked them for their support of the Island.

We have learned from you and we appreciate your presence and support for Cuba, he said.
Likewise, Díaz-Canel shared the tweets of the Argentine rapper and writer Daniel Devita (Double D) and the Spanish documentary filmmaker Ana Hurtado who, he considered, gave prestige to the Homeland Colloquium.

According to the Granma newspaper, the Cuban president described the intellectuals present at the meeting as brave, strong, objective, dedicated to defending the truth, that truth – he pointed out – that is what the world needs and that was also guiding José Martí and the Patria newspaper.

Also participating in the exchange were the member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Party and head of its Ideological Department, Rogelio Polanco Fuentes; the president of Casas de las Américas, Abel Prieto Jiménez, and the president of the Union of Journalists of Cuba, Ricardo Ronquillo Bello, among other personalities.

The Patria International Colloquium, dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the newspaper founded by José Martí, took place on Monday, March 14 at the Casa de las Américas, and concluded this Tuesday after a broad debate on the struggle for the symbolic emancipation of thought and the challenges of the world left.
