Canciller de Cuba: “La decisión más correcta sería levantar el bloqueo”

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, affirmed this Wednesday that the decision of the Joe Biden government to exclude Cuba from the list of States that according to Washington sponsor terrorism “was serious, important and in the right direction, although very limited and late.”

The presence of Cuba on the State Department list “lacked credibility, but its practical effects are extraordinary in the financial sector” and are aimed at “generating harm to the Cuban family,” he assured.

The chancellor responded to questions that have been reiterated on social media since Washington's announcement this Tuesday, firstly why the Biden government is taking these measures, and in this regard he said: “My opinion is that it has taken them because its plan has failed.” “The final objective of defeating the Revolution has failed, through measures that cause a total collapse of the economy and a social collision,” he said.

He considered that the Biden government “has made these decisions based on the recognition that the policy it applied towards Cuba is an obsolete, failed policy, which does not contribute to the objectives or national interests of the United States, nor does it have the support of the Americans, nor the Cubans residing in that country.”
