Focused on increasing its capacity to serve the population, clarify doubts or process complaints, the General Customs of the Republic, through the use of new technologies, extends its services through the Internet, to prevent people from having to travel to permanent headquarters.
In this sense, Ernesto Valdespino Rivero, Head of the Department of Attention to the Population of the General Customs of the Republic, explained the ways to contact the institution in case of not being able to appear at its offices, in addition to the new facilities offered by the possibility that people, before carrying out an import or packing their luggage, can know what the limitations and regulations established in these cases are, with the aim of facilitating the transit of travelers through ports and airports quickly and safely.
Regarding the operation of attention to the population, specifically in the Havana air terminal, Maidel Tarré Calá, Head of the Legal Affairs Department of the José Martí International Airport Customs, clarified the procedures established there.
The General Customs of the Republic is focused, and it is part of its mission, on providing an excellent and safe service for travelers as they pass through the border, in addition to preserving their safety.
