On the morning of this May 20, the Popular Exercise #Meteoro2023 was held at the Central Organ of the #CustomsCuba
Chaired by First Deputy Chief Enrique Díaz Rodríguez and Deputy Chiefs William Pérez González and José Luis Muñoz Toca, the event was held by videoconference with all the country's customs units in order to analyze the actions provided for in the disaster mitigation plans.
The necessary and permanent preparation of the units and personnel was pointed out as a vital element to avoid - in the event of natural phenomena - the loss of human lives and material resources.
Meteoro (Popular Exercise of Actions in Disaster Situations) has been taking place in Cuba since 1986 and examines the preparation of management and command bodies at all levels, with the purpose of strengthening measures against earthquakes, high-intensity hurricanes, severe droughts and events of health origin, with emphasis on the preservation of the resources of the economy and the population.
