Once again #Cuba is in #Matanzas, expressed our president after learning of the unfortunate accident that occurred this Friday afternoon during the maintenance work being carried out at the "Antonio Guiteras" Thermoelectric Power Plant.
The incident occurred when a 7-meter-high brick wall located inside the chimney collapsed on the workers - from the Specialized Company for Chimney Repair and Maintenance and work at heights of the Ministry of Construction - who were carrying out actions inside. So far it left the sad balance of one deceased, two injured and one missing worker.
The Fire Department, the Cuban Red Cross and the Integrated Medical Emergency Service remain at the scene of the event together with personnel from the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the Electric Union and the Power Plant Maintenance Company.
The search efforts do not stop in order to find the worker who is still missing under the rubble that is inside the chimney.
The people of all #Cuba accompanies the people of Matanzas in this sad moment they are living.
