First things first: Algeria has welcomed Cuba with open arms and has closed them in a fraternal gesture, with important economic and commercial agreements, announced by its president, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the end of the meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Miguel Díaz- Canel Bermúdez and the ministerial delegation that accompanies him.
With no papers involved and obviously enthusiastic about the agreement, the host president, who has his birthday this Thursday, announced to the local and Cuban media that the debt services will be canceled, postponing its repayment.
"Algeria also offers sister Cuba a solar energy plant for the production of electricity," said Tebboune, who also referred to other agreements related to the supply of fuel to our country and the cooperation of both nations in the production of medicines and vaccines; the sugar industry, education, science and culture.
After publicly welcoming Díaz Canel to “his second homeland”, the Algerian president promised to attend a session of the Mixed Commission in Havana in 2023, “with a group of 150 businessmen from his country to examine possibilities of investment in Cuba”.
