The Institute of Veterinary Medicine and the National Center for Plant Health of the Ministry of Agriculture, informs the sanitary-veterinary and phytosanitary regulations, which govern the introduction to our territories of: animals, plants, products and by-products of animal and vegetable origin, as well as biological products and any product capable of conveying animal and plant diseases.
These regulations are aimed at avoiding the introduction of pests and diseases that are harmful to our livestock economy, flora and fauna.
Absolute prohibitions:
• Live animals, except dogs and cats vaccinated against rabies and accompanied by Official Veterinary Certification of the country of origin
• Fresh, frozen, dehydrated or salted meats
• Sausages and other meat products
• Fluid milk and dairy derivatives in general NOT PASTEURIZED
• Leather and handicraft products without industrial processing
• Soil or organic matter in any of its forms
• Plants or plant parts, fresh fruits and vegetables, seeds
• Agricultural and forestry products
• Organisms and microorganisms harmful to animals and plants
• Biological products in general
Facilities:
• Canned meat (canned and sterilized) for pigs and poultry; in the case of canned bovine animals, only those from countries not affected by Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy (BSE), as well as concentrated broths, duly identified and from recognized trademarks
• UHT fluid milk, condensed, evaporated, powdered, mature cheeses, duly identified and fully packaged, from recognized brands
• Ornamental articles of animal origin duly treated
• Canned vegetables of recognized brands
